The CEGA APICS chapter is pleased to present a plant tour
of Graphic Packaging located in Perry, GA. This event will take place on

GPI Perry makes the paperboard wraps for soft drinks.
About 65% of all soft drink packaging in the USA comes from the Perry sight.
The Plant consumes about 248,000 gross tons of paper per year. 1.8 billion
cartons are shipped out of the plant to 178 shipping points in the US, Canada,
and Mexico. The primary customers of the site are: Pepsi, Coke, Dr. Pepper,
Miller, and AB. They produce over 950 SKUs. The connect warehouse (Gilmer
Logistic) services the customer on a 24 / 7 basis. This warehouse has the
capacity to store 24,000 pallets with a nominal effectiveness capacity of
21,000. The primary inventory software for the plant is SAP, Peak. The
integrated communication/network system in the plant is ei3 and Wonderware.
This plant employs about 215 production associates and 23 salary. The facility
is non-union.”
