CEGA Board Meeting
Wednesday September 13, 2005

 

Chapter CEGA Board of Directors meeting was held on Wednesday September 13, 2005 at the El Jaliscinse Mexican Restaurant on Russell Blvd. Warner Robins, GA.

 

Board Members Present:

Keith Flury, Clint Grant, Sandra Harvey, Dennis Leahy, Pam Moore

 

The Board of Directors meeting was called to order by the President Dennis Leahy.

Archived board meetings and newsletters will be posted on the chapter website by Clint.

Clint to provide an APICS email address for all board members.

All members need to be sure to check website for upcoming events and news. Clint does a great job keeping our chapter website!

Membership News:

There are currently listed 53 members on the roll. One member suspended for the month of September due to expired membership

Education News:

Class begins at the YKK facility in Macon on Thursday September 15, 2005 at 1800-2000.

The class is scheduled to run for 11 weeks ending December 8.  There are currently 8 students enrolled.

MTC/ITP classes to begin in October 2005 at MTC Technologies Bldg. Details to follow.

New growth opportunities:

Dennis to contact the Intergraph company to renew their corporate membership and all individual memberships due to expire before the end of this year.

Dennis to contact Warner Robins Chamber of Commerce to obtain a listing of the businesses who advertise for CPIM certified APICS personnel. Dennis to call business to thank them for advertising for APICS certified employees.

Keith assigned to develop PDM for the upcoming year. The CEGA will have three PDMs-Professional Development Meeting for the upcoming 2005-2006 year. Suggestions given: plant tours of YKK, Lithonia and Frito Lay.

New Actions:

A proposal made by Dennis to cover the hotel expense for Clint and the reasonable expense for travel of the chapter President at the 2005 International Conference and Exposition. Clint’s employer is providing the remaining cost of the conference. Nominated by Sandra and seconded by Pam. The conference and exposition will be beneficial to all the chapter members. We can’t wait to hear the details and lessons learned from Clint and Dennis.
