CEGA Board Meeting
Held on Thursday, December 20, 2007 at the Atlanta Bread Company,
Warner Robins Georgia
Meeting called to order at 5:50pm by President Keith Flury
Board Members in attendance: Keith Flury, Sandra Harvey, Janet Boyd,
Clint Grant and Jim Rush
NEW BUSINESS:
Keith presented topics and items covered in the
Southeast District webinar- Incorporation
with Georgia State complete and updated for additional year-$30.00 fee
paid by Keith and will be reimbursed by Chapter.
PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT MEETING-PDM
2 PDMs have been completed this year
1st PDM-Graphics Packaging Tour in
Perry, Georgia on Tuesday, October 30th at 5:30pm-Impressive
Operation-results were positive and are in process of being uploaded to
the CEGA website
2nd PDM-a joint PDM with the American Society for Quality (ASQ)
on Monday, November 12, 2007 at the Olive Garden in Macon, Georgia. Ms
Alyce Kemp-DeWitt discussed
“Stressed/Desserts” results were positive and are in process of being
uploaded to the CEGA website.
Question was raised, regarding $150 fee for the
speaker - 4 board members agreed to the fee and 1 disagreed- Meals,
gratuity, mileage, are usually covered cost as expenses. As the joint
PDM with ASQ 4 board members agreed to the fee-Ms Dewitt request was for
her expenses to be covered and a donation be made to her charity.
Upcoming PDMs-January and February 2008-speakers
and dates are currently being finalized by Stephanie and when it is
finalized an email will be sent out and the CEGA calendar of events will
be updated.
EDUCATION:
Classes are continuing at
Covidien (previously Tyco Healthcare)-with classes set to resume
in January.
Classes at RAFB are in the planning stages.
A discussion regarding an
itemized invoice for classes by paying students to be completed when
each class is completed and forwarded to the Treasurer for records and
payment. Financial records are to be
kept by Treasurer. A previously submitted excel invoice with student
listing, fees, date, and other parameters, were supplied by Janet as
reference. A motion was carried, to begin a formalized invoice record
procedure similar to the APICS catalog format. Jim asked what kind of
format APICS currently uses to balance teaching and charges?
Instructors to have input on format/design of
invoice.
Rockwell Automation from Dublin contacted CEGA
regarding classes to be taught in Dublin.
YKK is continuing their classes.
FINANCE REPORT:
CEGA Financial Status Jan 01, 07 – Dec 20, 07
The Treasurer reported
the CEGA income, expenses and ending balance for 2007. The chapter is
solvent and in good standing.
PUBLIC RELATIONS:
CEGA won the APCIS supply chain contest with the largest financial
donation to Second Harvest Supply Chain Contest.
The prize was the APICS Certified Supply Chain Professional (CSCP)
Learning System. It contains four modules and access to online course
components. Clint mentioned that Neal Dunnam may be interested in using
the materials.
Keith to bring kit to Janet to tag as CEGA chapter
assets and inventory.
CEGA won the silver Chapter Award for 2007- $75.00 gift certificate to
the APICs bookstore. Keith to follow up with APICS
and see where the certificate is.
Sandra reported she submitted a photo and caption of the Second Harvest
contribution to the Macon Telegraph for the Neighbors section. She will
forward everyone a copy of the submission.
A review of the CEGA assets needs to be updated for
2007- it was noted that the list of assets needs to be updated and all
assets require tagging with serial number, year purchased and assure all
records and documentation is updated for the upcoming year. Janet and
Sandra have agreed to tag and record all CEGA assets.
