CEGA Board Meeting December 13, 2006
President Message:
Welcome CEGA members:
The 2006 CEGA year is about to begin.
The Board of Directions held the first board meeting for the 2007 year
and are actively planning and preparing for an exciting year.
The board meeting was called order by
the chapter President, Dennis Leahy at 6pm.
Treasurer: The chapter Treasurer, Janet
Boyd reported to the board that the chapter is in good financial
standing at the close of 2006. The treasurer further reported that the
chapter has changed financial institution to increase cost savings. A
great cost savings to the chapter.
Education: Dennis reported that TYCO
Healthcare is interested in beginning classes at their location in
January. There are 6 students already registered and openings will be
offered to interested students. Further information to be provided once
details finalized. Be sure to check the CEGA website for further
details.
Website: Survey results to be posted on
Website. Keith Flury motioned and Clint Grant seconded the motion to the
post the survey monkey results to the CEGA website. Pictures and news
from CEGA members that attended the Orland Conference will be posted to
the website. The 2007 calendar to be populated with the upcoming
professional events to include plant tours, speakers at the professional
dinner meetings and other chapter activities.
CEGA Survey Results: The board discussed
and addressed the survey results to meet the needs of the Central
Georgia area with chapter improvements to include the updating of the
CEGA website calendar to provide advance notice of our programs, events
and CPIM Workshops. The CEGA survey highlighted area’s the chapter
needs to improve upon to better serve the needs of our chapter members.
A thank to everyone that participated in the survey.
Certification Maintenance: How to
maintain your CPIM certification was another area addressed in the
survey. CPIMs must earn 75 points within the first 5 years from the
date of the initial certification. Just to name a few opportunities to
earn certification maintenance points are available within the CEGA
chapter. APICS membership is 6 points per year, Professional
Developments Programs are 1 point per hour of instruction, and
educational plant tours are 1 point per full hour of instruction. For

Calendar: Proposed Calendar and Bios of
